The Bible, and nothing more
We follow God’s Word, the Bible, and nothing more. Our aim is simply to believe what the Scriptures teach and do what the first Christians did.
We believe the Bible is the inspired, complete, and all-sufficient word of God. It needs nothing added to it and is our only authority in all things 2 Timothy 3:16-17. We believe in one God, eternal and holy, known to us as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit Matthew 28:19. And we believe Jesus is the Son of God, who lived without sin, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. He is the one way to the Father John 14:6.
Coming to Christ
Salvation is a gift. It is given by the mercy and grace of God, never earned by anything we could do (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7). In the New Testament, those who received that gift came to Jesus in faith like this.
Hearing the gospel
Faith begins as we hear the good news of Jesus in God's word.Romans 10:17
Faith in Jesus
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and put our trust in Him.John 8:24; Hebrews 11:6
A change of heart
Moved by His love, we turn away from sin and turn toward God.Luke 13:3; Acts 17:30
Confessing Christ
We gladly confess that Jesus is the Son of God.Romans 10:9-10; Matthew 10:32
Baptized into Christ
We are buried with Him in baptism for the forgiveness of our sins, and raised to walk in new life.Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-4; Acts 22:16
A new creation
From that day we belong to Him, made new and giving Him our lives in glad submission.2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 12:1
We do not do these things to earn salvation. We are saved by the grace and mercy of God (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7). In Christ we are made new, and we give Him our lives, walking in His light with His people and finding His mercies new every morning (1 John 1:7; Lamentations 3:22-23).
